Portrait Packaging & Forum Challenges

Normally when I do photo shoots my price is based on where I am shooting & how many locations. Generally I do sell the photo rights which means you receive a CD with the images and my client can print at their expense and leisure. So this being said I normally don't do much printing. On occasion I have clients who would rather order through me or if it's for a friend than I may print and give as a gift. I have struggled for some time on how to make the packaging look attractive. Thanks to Pinterest I have been seeing a ton of really cool ways to package & wrap and thought I would put my nifty files to creative use.

So you remember that Maternity Shoot? Well here is what I came up with for packaging for it and may continue to pack all my photo orders this way:

It's super simple ! I took my Scallopped punches and created paper flowers that I hot glued to the ribbon. Again super simple but thought it had a nice effect.

This week has also been my turn at the "For The Luv Of Art" forum to head up the challenges.

Maternity Shoot and House Remodel Update

Yay the kids are back to school. I know I must sound like a horrible parent but Back to School is a good thing around here. My kids Love school... they are such social birds and they love learning. My oldest Cade loves school so much he insisted he wanted to go to summer school. Coming from a straight "A" student at first I thought that was weird but now I am glad that I gave in and let him attend. He loved it!

The one thing I am glad that is over is school shopping. I hate to do back to school shopping ! Forever grateful for Kohls cash !!!! I really cannot believe how much Cade grew over the summer. He is 11 going on 12 and just bought him 30/32 jeans. CRAZY !

I also can't believe how fast our summer went by. I had so many plans on getting things done around the house here. We accomplished alot but not as much as I wanted to. We are still working on Isabella's bedroom. Finally got her room painted and need to order furniture for it.
What we did accomplish was the boys room, guest room, living room. The kitchen and dinning room are done and just need a fresh coat of paint.

Way Too Long & a Digital Hybrid Card Kit Freebie

Once again I have gone way to long since my last post. This Summer has just been so busy that I haven't had much time for even scrapping. I know right... that's just plain CRAZY !
I had started to go through withdrawal and even Damien noticed that I was getting
a bit cranky from not having that creative outlet :' )

So Thank Goodness for Ellen Sosnoski. She came up with a GREAT concept and Challenge at For The Luv Of Art. ..... Card -a- Polooza Event. It is a 15 day event where every day she gives us challenges and we create cards inspired from the challenges. We are only on day six & you can work at your own pace till the 17th of August. So if you wanted to jump on in... you still have plenty of time !!!!

Exciting Happenings, Design Team Call & A Few Projects

Yikes I didn't realize just how long it's been since I have blogged. I took the month of December thinking I could just enjoy some family time but it sure never works out the way one plans. I feel like I have been even soooo busy I just can't focus.

So I finally took some down time and just created. It always feels so good to do that. I made this album to send to a Friend who is have a difficult time right now. The inside is just envelopes in different shapes/sizes. I plan on writing her an inspirational letter every week and the envelopes are so she can store the letters. I used Cosmo Cricket "Circa 1934" Pattern Paper along with SRM Stickers & Marvy Uchida Punches:

Pre-Black Friday Sale, November "Seasoned With Love Kit" & Our New Truck

Well Mercedes is finally somewhat starting to settle in. We are still so CRAZY busy painting and redoing all the rooms upstairs but they are slowly but surely starting to come together. We also had to break down and buy a vehicle that would fit all the kids yet it had to be something Damien would want to drive. oyyyy was he ever picky ! So here is what we ended up with:

CSN & "La Mode" October Kit

So you want to know what I have been up to? Well Damien and I decided to
do some remodeling up stairs and we started with the boy's rooms.
We separated them 2-3 years ago but after the fire they became very close
and we were finding them crawling into each others beds. So despite
our best efforts at first we decided to just put them back into the same room...
together again. So I have been in bed search mode. Looked every where locally
with no luck. I guess Full size beds is not as popular as they use to be. But the
boys are getting way to big for Twin beds and we are trying to go from a child's
room look to a teen/adult look. I actually found what I was looking for at one of
the CSN many bedroom stores.

While searching one of the many CSN stores I came across their Dining Room/Dining Sets here at: www.DiningRoomsDirect.com and found a must have for the Holiday's. Since I am hosting Christmas here this year and really want just a GREAT looking table.
I am super excited! Probably just a bit more than Damien since this means a ton of work for him to really get the house looking good and ready for family.

Pop Corn Festival, some AMAZING Vendors & Kit "CLICK"

This weekend we decided to head over to our local towns "Pop Corn" festival. Yup I walked away from a ton of work, some tight deadlines and just enjoyed the GORGEOUS
Sunny day with my family. It started out with a nice walk to downtown & when we got there EXCITEMENT was in the air !

Each of the kids had their $20 burning in their pocket. So they started out with some freshly squeezed (VERY SUGARY) lemonade.

The first vendor I fell in love with is Gina Marie Sabo Purses....Purses showing off bagitude. They are AMAZING !!!!! Who wouldn't love a Twilight purse?!

This was one of my Favorites!!!!

Isabella than decided she wanted to get her hand painted. They tried talking her into getting her face done but she was not having it. It cracks me up the attitude that can come out of that little 3 year old body.

Than Damien & Cade decided that the Rootbeer Floats where a must have....YUM!

While the boys waited in line for their Rootbeer Floats I found a both that had the CUTEST little girl hair clips. Karina's Kreations hand made hair pieces are a must
for every little girl !!!!

She shared a both with these lovely creations as well but I could not find the information on them. I am sure if you emailed Karina from her site you can find out how to acquire this lovely pencil bags and knitted flower hair clips.

Isabella was so excited to see the balloon stilt guy but was a bit scared of him all at the same time...it was Cute !

Just when I thought we could not fit any more food into our stomachs... we had Steak & Cheese sandwiches, roasted pecans & Icecream.

The next vendors I cam across were my FAVORITE ! These ladies were so sweet and talented...not to mention fellow etsians. Well take a look at why I fell in love with their Vintage Aprons and Headbands.

Hopefully they still have that cute Smurf apron. I so regret not picking it up & just might have to order it. It was too ADORABLE ......as was this Strawberry Shortcake one!

Our day was winding down pretty fast but not before we found this vendor... Better Than Normal ! Look at these GORGEOUS crowns , perfect for a Prince & Princess!!!!

Origin: French, from Old French bosquet, thicket, diminutive of bosc, forest, of Germanic origin.

I made this bouquet by punching out flowers from Cosmo Cricket pattern paper. I had some vintage paper doilies on hand that I used, SRM sticker "Once Upon a Time" phrase and than of course topped it off with some deli-sh Shimmerz "Treasured Hymn" spray. The GORGEOUS ribbons came from "For The Luv of Art" store.

CHA, "Sweet Ollie" July Kit projects and SRM Stickers

Once again CHA was simply amazingly Fun ! I was really blessed this year to be able to share this awesome experience with Damien. Yup Damien came with and it was such a hoot to have him there with me!

He was amazingly fantastic as he always is.....by jumping in and pitching in when needed. He was our picture taker and most of the time the pun of our jokes but he was also amazingly patient and really didn't even mind lugging my heavy tote around.
I was so sad to see CHA end. I laughed so hard at times but I also loved equally as hard but this certainly was not hard to do! Here are just a few pics of these fantabulous peeps I got to see and hang with!Right before CHA I completed some projects using the July "Sweet Ollie" Kit & the Add-on kit from www. Finally... I can share my Secret !

Hope everyone is doing well ! I am super excited to be able to finally announce the good news that has been killing me to keep quiet about.

Well................ I have decided to open an online retail store. The scrap/art store will also have a forum and gallery & kits every month. One of the things I am real excited about is that I will be manufacturing my very own product for the store & kits !!!!!

At the beginning of this year I decided to start acting out my faith. I knew doing this would really stretch me but I just kept remembering that.......... All Things Through Christ are Possible !!!! It has been an AMAZING ride.....especially seeing how He has opened so many doors & given me the blessing of placing people in my life to help build me up once I took this leap of faith !

My opening date is the 24th of this month so in one week....eeeeekkkk
The store is called "For The Luv of Art". I will post links on the 24th here since right now it is still closed.

I am also excited to say that on the 24th I will be putting out a DT call. Something for you guys to keep in mind. I am looking for 6-7 artist. I say artist because I am just looking for people who are passionate about what they do. Who enjoy working with all mediums. Be it scrapping,altering,painting,sewing,cardmaking & etc.

I will also be offering along with Physical Product...Digital Downloads.
I will also be needing a digital team as well as Graphic Creators. This call wont go out yet for another few weeks.

Well as busy as I have been I have had some time to scrap and create.

This layout is all about what this year will be for me. Somewhere along the way I thought that to be a good wife and a good mom I had to give my dreams up. I am just now realizing that their are more examples and lessons to be learned in the pursuit of happiness than self sacrifice. This year I am going on 15years of marriage I can earnestly say that we are happier & closer than ever !!!! My husband has been so supportive and I can't wait for you guys to meet him at CHA !

Cosmo Cricket meets SRM & A Kiss on the Chic & A Digital Frebbie

wHAT A cRAzY week last week was and it continued right through the weekend. I have been wanting to post and just have been super busy. Have had a few good things happen....like had a few cards picked up for publication....yay !

My nephew is visiting from Colorado and I get to see him in the morning and who doesn't luv Easter ?! Looking forward to spending time with our family.

We have been debating when it would be appropriate to show the boys "The Passion" movie. We have spoken to the boys about salvation so of course the death of Christ has been spoken about but I am not sure that their innocent minds are able to handle the reality of what our Jesus really went through. To be honest I have only watched it once....and I cried for days. Well all this to say that I am thinking we may watch it together on Easter night... so please pray for my boys :' )

So moving on to Scrappy talk......
Loving Cosmo Cricket's Joy Ride....SRM and Cosmo Cricket partnered up & I had a ton of FUN creating with it.

I created a double sided Travel Log & made some Post Cards as well. On the larger side of the log I created pockets to hold tickets, post card, etc. There are blank pages for adding pictures and notes. The right side is a smaller notebook to write down locations and dates.

Boy does time seem to be flying by this year. I can't believe that we are all ready into March !

I have been so busy creating all kinds of projects. I also have some AWESOME news that I am dyeing to share with you all but not yet. However this is Huge news and yup it's killing me to not be able to share.....soon !!!!!

I cannot tell you enough just how spectacular SRM Stickers are. They are so easy to work with and make creating any project easy and simple with all the cute phrases and tittles they offer. If you have not been to the store yet make sure to head over there .......SRM STORE.

So than we were challenged to make mini note cards using SRM Stickers. These cards are A1 in size (3 1/2" x 4 7/8") & here is what I made:

I also luv products from Cut Card Stock.com...all of my base cards here are using their cardstock. On this particular card I used their gatefold that I cut a heart out. However the inspiration came from the Caardvarks Blog Challenge.

I had a super busy but Fun weekend creating for SMR and A Kiss on The Chic.

Here is what I made:
Laura at A Kiss on The Chic puts together some of the most beautiful kits around with vintage findings in them.... so make sure to head over an check them out.

Created this layout of the best Hubby in whole world.....at least I think so ! lol

Now this album has a bunch of goodies from Laura's kit but I also used.... and let me quickly mention could not have done it with out SRM stickers. Oh my goodness SRM has a huge selection of stickers for just about ever occasion. What Susan has done has created full number and Date pages which made creating this Birthday Album so easy !

I incorporated a bunch of fabric with paper goods. The concept is that the tags will hold the individuals information and than will slip into the appropriate month fabric pocket page.

Valentine Freebie, Nikki Sivils ,Isabella's Haircutting Debut & A Give Away

What a week this has been ! Isabella had a bad cold which means she was crabby, which in turn means we were all miserable. I could have simply dealt with that but while I was working on the freebie I am giving away today.....she decided to get in a bit of trouble.

I hear her soft little footsteps coming down to the studio, when I hear her say...."Mami Isa So Beautiful". My first thought was...ohhhh nooooo she got into my makeup again. If only ! I certainly was not that lucky.....she found my hair cutting scissors. While I am relived she did not hurt herself I was really dumb founded at how much hair she was able to cut off. It was so stinkin long and had just started to grow down past her waist.

I know that it doesn't really look that bad but Damien just loved her long hair.
I was really impressed at how well he took it & adores her new short look.

Well today's freebie is a 5x7 Valentines Day digital card:

Now I have made these cards super easy for you to add your picture & print. The card has a built in Vingette to enhance any picture. The card is all ready built as a 5x7 so it will be easy to print. Follow the steps below.

Steps once you have downloaded the Card and unzipped it:
1.) Open up Photo Shop (or any program that will allow you to use png files and layers)
2.) Find the card folder and open it up in photoshop.
3.) Find you picture and crop it to a square.
4.) Drag your picture to the card.
5.) Look in you layers palette (onthe right side of the program).....make sure that your picture is visibly under the card. If not. Than in your layers palette...right click the picture and drag it under the card.
6.) Drag your picture so it fills the frame.
7.) Got to your layers tab than click on "Merge Visible"
8.) Now up in the files tab click on "New" than "Blank File". Create an 8.5 x 11 horizontal transparent image.
9.) Drag your card twice onto this layer and Print..super easy

I created this layout in honor of my fantastic HUGE family. I luv hanging and being with all my cousins...They Mean The World To Me ! In this layout I used the "Flaming Butterfly" line:

I also made a card using the "Flaming Butterfly" line. I am super excited about this card because it is headed with Nikki to Ohio & may be on the TV show Scrapbook Memories. woohooo !

A Freebie, A Toot, Projects & More

I do not even know where to begin.... so I will start off by saying I just created a Freebie for you all. ! With Valentines Day around the corner I thought I would begin by spreading some LOVE. It is a felted fun digital art ....... may be for that special
someone !?

I also made a vellum petal card just to give you some inspiration. I actually picked up the vellum card at Cut Card Stock.com . I than printed my digital art on Wausau Royal Linen Cardstock in the BRIGHT WHITE that I had cut down to a 5x7. I printed an additional balloon and hand cut it out. I created a belly band with ribbon and used pop-dots to attach by balloon to the front of the card. Make sure to head over to Cut Card Stock ! They have a huge variety of options for ALL your printing needs and have an awesome 12 x12 cardstock sale going on that includes their Cordinations cardstock.

I am still try to catch up on lost sleep from CHA. I had so much fun getting to meet and know so many talented ladies from all over the world. It really was amazing! Every time I turned around my name was being called and I was being hugged by someone. The fun part was trying to match a physical face with their avatars....I didn't always get it right but it sure was a lot of fun trying. I worked the MLS both and one of the girls there..Patti created some cute aprons for us. Look how stinkin adorable we all look:

I am also super duper excited to say that I am now designing for Nikki Sivils.
She has an amazing team of super talented girls and I really cannot believe that I am one of them. Make sure to check my side bar where I linked them up. You can see for yourself just how AMAZING they all are ! Now look how Cute some of the goodies I may be designing with soon:

No major new projects accept for these tags I created right before CHA. Had a lot of fun inking and staining with Tattered Angels and Rangers Inks product. The stamp is a Tim Holtz & Inkadinkado. This Year I Will.....

It's that time of year again. Where I sit back and reflect on another year gone by. This year I decided not to look back and wish I could have done things differently but rather to look ahead and see what I can change this year.

As I type this post Damien is upstairs cleaning the after effect of 3 parties. YUP you heard right. wowzers.....I'm tired ! However it was so worth it....the kids had a ball and it was so nice to see them interact with their cousins & aunts and uncles. Isabella was completely spoiled and was quite the Princess. Speaking of Isa here is a picture of her I took I haven't shared yet:

I am so ready to start scrapping this month. It was nice taking the month off but I came to the realization that I am just plain grouchy when Im not allowed to be Creative ! hehehe I especially realized this when I heard Damien say the other day "Go Downstairs and Make Something...will You !" hehehe

Well I really don't have anything to share since I have not created in over a month but I do have a few things I made a while ago I just forgot to post.

This card was another custom Etsy job.

This next project was a Wedding Card sample I created. It got picked up for a magazine publication and I never posted it here. All of the cardstock used to create it is from www.cutcardstock.com I used their Wausau Royal Linen in Midnight Blue for the outside and for the inside I used the Crystal Stardream in the #65. It was perfect because it was light weight enough to use in my HP printer and because its a metallic cardstock the text and image remained wet long enough for me to wet emboss it.

Speaking of publications. I just received my copies of the November "Simply Handmade" magazine. I have 2 publication projects in there so if you get a chance to pick it up take a peek and let me know what you think.

I am also excited to share that My Little Shoebox has put out their new winter release.

Pay It Forward

It's funny how a concept so simple like "Pay It Forward" works. I was standing in Starbucks and a young lady in front of me counting her change came up short about 80 cents. I never gave it a second thought and offered her the extra single I had in my hand. She was so thankful and so relieved that she was not going to have to go to the car and scrounge up the change she was short(I have been there I know how she felt). In a way her gratitude made me feel bad because I had basically reacted on instinct and come on (so I thought) it was only 80cents. So the young lady got her coffee and was happily on her way. I could feel that the mood in Starbucks had changed a little bit. Well now its my turn to pay for my ordered coffee and the gentleman behind me taps me on my shoulder and quietly whispers....please allow me to pay for your order. I at first was speechless and than gave him a great big smile and thanked him for his kindness. I stepped over to receive my order when I turned around and looked around and now everyone was smiling and the feeling in the room had changed drastically. I grabbed my coffee and was slightly past the counter when I heard who must of been the manager tell the gentleman who had just paid for my order that his order was on the house........ all because of 80 cents I was blessed in a way I can't even describe.

Well I haven't scrapped at all this month....I know I can't hardly believe it. I am however feeling much better. Since I have a little surprise for you if you bear with me till the end of this post. Since I have nothing new to show you I will post some items I created a while ago but never posted.

God is Great ! Vaca Pics and a Toot

Well I have Fabulous news. The results are that I have just a Fibroadenoma in my left breast. Its quite large and painful so it will have to be removed but it is not cancerous. For some reason my body likes growing them but the news is good..... God is great ! I know that there has been so much controversy in the news over self examinations and when should mammograms be done. I for one feel that we need to take control. We should know our bodies better than a Dr. could. I for one will continue to do self examinations and will insist for a mammogram when I am unsure.

Damien and I also got away for a few days. It was so nice to reconnect and spend time together. We stayed at the Dana Hotel & SPA and had a spectacular time. The hotel was right in the heart of downtown Chicago on State Street. We walked all over and had spectacular weather. Here are a few pics of Damien tolerating me and my camera...hehehe

This is where we had breakfast and the front of the Hotel.

Here are a few pics of the room. It was very warm yet very roomy. It was really hard to capture the size and feel.

We also loved the open to the city observatory area that the Danna offered. It was on top of the Hotel...38 floors up I believe. It was wonderful, it overlooked the city, it had a fab fire pit that really warmed us up from the Chicago late night air. It was hard to take good pics due to the plexi glass that protected us from falling 38 floors ;' )

Our last day we headed over to Schaumberg and did some shopping at IKEA. We spoiled Isabella and bought her, her very own craft table similar to mine, swivel chair, an art easel and a ton of her own art paper and tools. Which is currently still waiting to be put together.

We did cut our last day short to visit my mom who had just come in from Mexico. My dear sweet uncle Felo had passed away the day before and she flew in for the funeral. It was so nice to see her and visit with her !

So yes this past week was a super crazy week. It went from relaxing, joyful to super fast paced and a lot of sadness. Our family was really torn up by my uncles passing who we loved dearly! On Thursday I cooked for my family. We had a lot that came in from out of town. I made Flautas, Empanadillas, Lechon and Pollo in Fricase. I was exhausted but it was Great to visit with and be with my family even if I wish it could have been for a different occasion.

Despite how busy this past week was I had plenty of time to create before that.
Here is a layout I made for "A Kiss on the Chic". Laura still has some items left that are available so make sure to check them out before everything is gone.

I also got to work with some of the FANTASTIC "My Little Shoebox" Little Ladies line.

This layout is of my super sweet kitty... the kids named her Suger. They are now determined to get another kitty they can call Spice. Crazy kids ! (oh and yes I know suger should be spelled sugar but the kids wanted to spell it this way)

Here is a card I created using the fabulous die cuts to create an open window.
I placed it in a transparent vellum envelope that can found at Cut Card Stock.com in many different sizes.

This layout is a scrap lift of the ever sooo Talented Michelle Lanning.
I cannot tell you enough the sinking feeling I had when Suzy told us she wanted us to create a layout scrap lifting the MLS team. First I groaned abit and than it turned to moaning....hehehe Why is it that I fear having to scrap lift so much ? I really got to thinking and I think it may be because:
1.) If we are scrap lifting it, it must already be FABULOUS....right !?
2.) How does one scrap lift and keep the integrity of what the original designer had in mind.
3.) Simply I am a rebel..... I like to plainly use what I want and design how I want.
However it never fails that when I am done, I simply luv what I have created !

Halloween Pics, A Travel Album and My Little Shoebox

How I adore and LOVE this man. Sometimes when I think about the fact that we are going on 15 years I am amazed at just how easy it has been. Don't misunderstand me ,we have been thru our fair share of trials, hardship & sadness. However I could not love him more than I do and he makes it so easy to love him !

We had a great Halloween this year. I love that our church has a Trunk or Treat for the kids. It had such a good turn out and really was a lot of Fun ! Cade dressed up as Roreshack from Watchmen (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) but ended up looking more like Indiana Jones. Isabella was Snow White. I made her costume and she of course had it destroyed with in the first 20 minutes she had it on.

I also got to create with My Little Shoebox "Imagine A Forest" line. This line is simply adorable and I had so much Fun creating with it. each line has it's own beautiful scalloped pattern paper. Here is how I used the "Imagine A Forest" and I also used a heck of a lot of SHIMMERZ on this one:

On this one I created a pocket for extra pictures and a hidden journaling to Isa.

I would like to ask everyone of my readers to please say a quick prayer for me in the morning. This week we found another lump in my left breast and I will be headed to the hospital in the morning for an ultrasound and mammogram. I am a bit nervous of the unknown yet confident that God will take care of me and my family. I thank you in advance for your prayers.

Baby Shower Invitations, Halloween Goodies and so much more !

Every year creating Halloween goodie bags for my kids is such a challenge. Their school no longer allows candy and coming up with something that is healthy but FUN is so hard.
So what I came up with this year are these adorable little Halloween kits that I am offering on my Etsy. I plan on adding a YUMMY Granola bar and maybe a small toy of some sort to these bags. I am offering these as kits with the glassine bags at my Etsy store and you can even order them with your child's name on them .....how FUN !

I have also been creating these pretty hair pieces. These are GREAT for the Holidays or special occasion. My niece simply luvs wearing them to school and they look so pretty and trendy on her.

Another customized item I am offering in my Etsy are these Baby Shower Invitations.
There is something about receiving something with stitching on it so I made these whimsical invites that would be a delight for any one to receive.

I am in a circle journal group and this is one of my additions to one of the journals I recently did.

Here is a journal/scrapbook album I just finished creating. I know I have mentioned here so many times but I adore my Bind-It-All ! I am also loving all the new cardstock that CUT CARD STOCK.COM has been getting in. I used the new Via Linen in Sunflower for this album and it is so Beautiful and feels so nice !

Gearing up for the Holidays here. One of my favorite stamps is this sweet Susan Branch stamp I bought years ago. It was put out by All Night Media at the time but I believe that Plaid owns them now. I have a lot of family members who luv to bake as gifts and I thought how wonderful to make these tags for them to add to their baked goods. I even got to use some of my new copics and of course more of the Kraft cardstock I can't seem to get enough of from Cut Card Stock.com

So Laura / A Kiss on the Chic sent me the most beautiful kit to work with....FRENCH COUTURE. I couldn't help but want to create a vintage inspired altered project with this gorgeous kit.
I have been seeing older books being taken and being re-done lately and I of course did not want to get left behind on this awesome concept.

Lotus Paperie , Sherry Steveson & a Little Felt Camera Bag

Well if you have not joined in on all the Fun going on at Paperie Lotus yet I hope you will now ! I luv how awesome their challenges are how they encourage you to think out of the box.

This weeks challenge was to create a layout using notebook paper. Not something I would commonly use. However I was very Happy with the results!
Journaling reads:
Before You met me
I was a Fairy Princess
I caught Frogs and called them prince
Before You knew me
I traveled 'round the world
Made Myself a Queen
And I slept in Castles and fell in Love
Because I was taught to Dream

This layout was based off of a sketch I think Vanessa did.
I used once again the Fabulous kraft cardstock from Cut Card Stock.
I also used the new Jenni Bowlin Core'dinations that can be found
at Cut Card Stock as well.

"The Scrapbook Embellishment Handbook" by Sherry Steveson
I was just sent this book to write up a review on it. I was so excited when I got my package opened it and indeed it was a book ! I don't know about you but I am so tired of buying books and when they get here it is nothing but a magazine. Tagged as a book & priced at the going rate of a book. Not sure when this trend started but if any publisher is reading this......helllloooo that's just not working for me!

Well rest assured this is one solid book. Loaded with FAB projects, pictures, instructions and step by step guides. One of my fave features is the binding...very well protected. It is hard covered and perfect for frequent use as a reference guide.

The Book sections are broken down by the many Embellishments us scrappers use. Then each section will cover several techniques using those embellishments....some I have done before others really were new to me.
The step by step guides makes it especially a Fabulous asset for the newbie scrapper.
For the more seasoned scrapper the techniques will serve as a great reminder.

I especially want to make mention of the GORGEOUS projects and layouts that this book is loaded with. OOOOHHH my ! Filled with work from Melissa Phillips, Cindy Tobey, Jamie Harper, Kimber McGray, Ria Weiss, Nic Howard & the list goes on. So overall my review is that this is a well made book that will serve as a valuable source of inspirations for all crafters !

Here is a little camera felt bag I made for my new phone. I made this in under an hour and was so please with the results I decided to make a tutorial on it. Super easy..all you need is felt, buttons,velcro, sewing machine or a needle for hand sewing. Keep an eye out coming soon for the tut and the down-loadable pattern.

I would be in heaven if by some miracle, someday they decided to ask me to design for them.
There is something about Liz's colors and her minimalist approach to her designs that
makes me want to download everything she offers.
I once again used her goodies for this layout of Isabella. I wanted something that would allow me to showcase this close up of Isabella. Isa on this day was so intrigued by the camera and was actually starring right down the lens.

My Little Shoe Box meets Hero Arts & another Lotus Paperie Challenge

Ok this weeks challenge (141) for Lotus Paperie was to do something I luv to do which is Hand Cut paper and make embellishments out of it. I look forward to seeing what you guys submit ! In this layout I used a mix of Fancy Pants, Sassafras and Prima PP.
Here is was I did:

I have also been busy, busy, busy working with My Little Shoebox. This month I was given the "Whoo Loves You" line to play with. We also were given Hero Art Stamps to incorporate into all our projects. Love me "HERO ARTS" ! Incorporating some stamps I all ready had as well as what was sent to me I used in these layouts and cards the: "Handwritten For You", Take Good Care Greeting", Together, Four Stylish Owls & Elephants.

This "Just For You" card was Fun to make. Luv me the Hero Arts "Elephant set". It comes with a total of 19 stamps in the set. I also used the Hero Arts "Handwritten For You" which comes in a set of 3 phrases.I also used the MLS transperancies and diecuts.

In this card " A Warm Hello: I used one of the other phrase from the "Handwritten For You" set by Hero arts. I of course can't get enough of the MLS diecuts. For the base of the card I used a Gatefold from Cut Card Stock. Make sure to swing by and take a peek at all the Beautiful colors Cut Card Stock offers ! The color I used here is the Ruby Stardream Metallic.

In this layout " I Treasure You" I used the Hero Arts "Together" set. I also used the MLS scalloped pp circle, the Alpha Chipboard (which I luv using the postive and negative sides together) & Magistical Memories Chipboard all on top of the Core'dinations cardstock (which by the way can be picked up at Cut Card Stock.com).

I had a lot of Fun making this layout "Asleep or Awake, In Color or in Black & White You are Beautiful to Me". Iused the Hero Arts Elephant set and some of the CUTE stamp characters in it. I than placed them on top of the MLS diecuts and hand cut paper.

I do have quite a bit more to come soon. I have more MLS along with more of the Lotus Paperie Challenges. I even have a few digital layouts I created and some fabric tutorials so make sure to swing back by.

GD for Lotus Paperie and Some Etsy Store Additions

Yay I am super excited to say that Vanessa Falle asked me to Guest Design for Lotus Paperie this month. The first challenge was a fab sketch that Tania Lennox created and inspired us with. Make sure to go and check the sketch out along with all the Beautiful projects that all the other DT members created. Here is the layout I created for Challenge 140:

I am really looking forward to the next challenge that I will be working on for them as soon as I am done with this post. Try to join us if you can! What I luv about challenges like this is that it inspires me to create/ create with products or styles I may never had considered before.

Having FUN creating for my Etsy store. I created these tags from a mix of Pink Paislee and SEI I had. It's also amazing to see what a difference a bit of stitching makes on any project.

Played around with some Ranger paints and alcohol inks on these. For some reason as of late I have really been enjoying pulling out the paints. When I was younger and hand more time on my hands I loved drawing and sketching. I am considering picking up a sketch book this week and see if I can pick it up again. Maybe draw and paint some originals for the shop :' )

Look how stinkin CUTE these are. I found this idea on Greenwala. Perfect project for a rainy or cold winter day's. Super easy and a load of Fun ....especially for boys! These are simply recycled toilet paper rolls painted up and re-molded.

Easy Craft Projects and September's "A Kiss on the Chic Kit"

Run quick.......as fast as you can ! Because that's what it would take to get your hands on one of Laura's kits from "A Kiss on the Chic". This months theme that I got to work with is the "School Days" kit. I was so happy because I had the perfect pictures for this kit that I had been wanting to scrap. She is also offering up another kit this month called "Passion for Fashion" .......uuummmm...Stunning ! Emeline Seet has done some wonders with it ! So make sure to check out Emeline's Blog if you get a chance.

I am also SUPER excited to mention to you guys a fabulous Blog called "Easy Craft Projects". The reason I am so excited is because this is a project based tutorial site and it has an awesome forum with a great bunch of girls !!!! I have really been enjoying myself getting to know the girls and working tutorials up in the "Textile" section.
For my first tutorial I created is a little "House on A Hill" felt pin cushion.

For my second tutorial I created a very simple "Camera Strap Band Cover"

All of the tutorials are in a PDF format so they are easy to save and print up. Their are so many more projects by so many talented ladies. From how to make a "Resin Jewelry Pendant" to working on an "Altered Birdhouse". I would luv to see you there !

I also got to create a super FUN card and with a CUTE envelope. I hope you are not getting tired of me using the kraft chipboard cardstock from Cut Card Stock.com but I am addicted to it. REALLY ! It is such a fabulous base for any project. Weather you are creating a card , working on a layout or using it to alter a project with. The envelopes from CCS are fantastic as well. On this button closure policy 10 kraft envelope I added a simple but Fun embellishment to it that matches the card:

Last but not least....just a sweet simple love banner I made for my Etsy shop.
What I used was the Opal Stardream metallics in a 65lb cover weight from Cut Card Stock.com. They also come in Opal , Silver , Gold & Crystal. I am so in luv with this weight. It gives me so many options that I did not have with the 105lb.
I think that my fave feature is I can print at home using my HP photosmart printer. Now since it is a metallic it still prints wet but this gives me my next fave feature. Since the print remains wet longer once printed I can emboss with embossing powder and get a wonderful raised print/image.
I created this banner by using this exact method. After embossing them I than added a vintage feel to them by using Rangers distress ink . I than punched holes and added ribbon and I have a very sweet banner to hang.

I am sooo Sorry !

I want to apologize to all my Blog readers. I am the worst at figuring out how to keep up with it. I am sooo Sorry !!!! Sometime I don't feel like I have enough to say or post and than other times I feel so over whelmed because I have to much to say and I don't know where to begin.

Well I guess I can start off by telling you that my trip to Florida/CHA was just wonderful ! I meet so many fabulous, talented & funny girls! Everyday there was an adventure with a laugh waiting around at every corner. Shout out to my girl Tani sha .....who I roomed with. She is such a gem. Since I have been back I have stayed super busy helping Cut Card Stock.com move to a new location. The warehouse is so big and so nice.Check it out:

We also have a new server switch that brought on some wonderful changes. One that I am super excited about is that now you can load up your cart and in your cart simply key in your zip code to see how much shipping is. We are also having a fab sale on all our Natural, Off-Whites, Cream, Ecru & Ivory cardstock.

Than this month I worked with the new MLS "The Sky's The Limit"..... so easy to work with ! Check it out:

While I was at CHA I saw a layout with crocheting on it and was totally inspired by it and I thought...hum I can do that. I wish I could remember who's layout that was. It was just stunning really!

On this card I incorporated the fab MLS " The Sky's The Limit" with some of Cut Card Stock.com shimmery translucent platinum vellum.

I just now realized I never posted my CHA work for MLS also featuring Maya Road/Core'diantions. I got to work with the gorgeous MLS new line "In Bloom"

I have also been working on some of these button paper flowers for my Etsy shop. These will be up for sale in about a week.

My Little Shoebox partners with Core'dinations , a Becky Fleck Sketch and 2 Giveaway's

Wooohooo I just received an email telling me I will be getting a visit in the next 2 days from the man in brown. Yup u heard me....the My Little Shoebox CHA release is headed to me and in to my waiting arms. I am so excited to work with these beautiful new designs that Helen has created. If you have not seen them make sure you visit the MLS Blog for a peak.

Once I get them ....it will be a mad rush to get my work done, shipped out in time for Suzy & Helen to get my designs to Florida. What I am excited about though is I won't be to far behind. YAY....I will be heading to CHA too. Not just my designs this time.

Helen is soooo spoiling us and rented a HUGE 3bath GORGEOUS town home for us to stay in with top of the line amenities. All work and no play......naaaahhhhh not us girlie's. We even have a Disney trip planned ....How Fun !

Ok well enough of that and on to show u just how Awesome the My Little Shoebox is when it is paired with Core'dinations:

This is a Happy Birthday card. I tried giving it a vintage appeal and hand stitched the beads on after beading them on wire. I also beaded the kraft envelope. I luv little details. FYI I have the kraft policy 10 envelopes up for sale in my Etsy shop (unbeaded), so swing by and visit it.

This is a layout using the FAB Core'dinations. This cardstock is sandable and it exposes another color underneath it's layers. The picture is of Isabella the day she was born. I also added a touch of vintage by adding the paper lace that was given to me during a vintage swap I recently participated in.

So that was Isabella as a newbie and this is Isa as a BIG girl :' (
She is loving swimming. I can't believe she will be 2yrs old next week.

Of course most of my pics of Isa look like this....always in Daddy's arms.

Talking about all grown up. Here is my niece Mercedes. Such a camera diva. She is getting so big......................sigh..................... In this layout u can really see the effects of sanding the Core'dinations cardstock. I created a fabric flower, layered a punched out paper flower and a button on top of that.

Boys will be Boys..... my boys sure know how to Live , Laugh and Love. When it comes to water they become just like fish. ahhhh to be young again !

Here is a mini album I created with some kraft board (you can find some in my etsy shop). I than covered it with My Little Shoebox pattern paper and used a great mix of the yummy Core'dination colors and some of the MLS diecuts.

Ohhh that almost sounds dirty. hehehe For those of you who may not be familiar with Etsy, It is a wonderful place that allows regular folks (like me) to sell items. Its similar to ebay but with out the auction. Oh and you can only sell Handmade Items, Vintage Items or Supplies to create with. Really Cool huh ?! In this layout "You Still Make My Heart Flutter" i got to use the way cool Heidi Swapp invisibles. It was a lot fun and easier than I thought to use !

Poppie is super special to me! My father died when I was a young girl and he has been just that to me. I love that Isabella adores him and loves him so much.

I just adore my oldest sons personality. He is so sweet, charming yet dorky and always knows just what to do to make me SMILE.

Pink Paislee, American Crafts, Cut Card Stock.com and A Kiss on the Chic

What a crazy few days. My dear sweet daughter decided to shove a pop corn kernel up her nose on Wednesday. Yup you heard me right ! The crazy thing about it is it happened so fast and while she sat on Damien's lap. I was actually laying down on the couch and we were watching a show when I heard a blood curdling scream. I hear Damien say....oh my goodness she just shoved a pop corn kernel up her nose. From there we rushed to the ER. That alone was a nightmare. Isabella and I were there for 4 hours and they were not able to remove the kernel. They tried all kinds of tweezers and suction tubes but she had managed to stick it so high up in her nose that they were worried to do damage. So they recommended a Nose Surgeon. UUUggghhh just when you think it couldn't get any worse. I head over to the CVS pharmacy. I was there over 3 hours. The antibiotics that the DR. really wanted her to be on was no where to be found in NW Indiana. I guess the Bactria in her nose needed a certain percentage of different antibiotics and they could not nail it down. So after 4 Dr. consults and Pharmacist who could not apologize any more then he all ready had, I was finally on my way home. Oh did I forget to mention CVS gave me a $50 gift card for all my trouble. Yesterday we saw the Nose Surgeon and they removed a pop corn kernel the size of a huge round cheerio. It was indeed STINKIN huge. Thank God that she is well and the foreign object has been removed !!!!!! Here is a picture of Isabella Easter morning looking so sweet but please do not be fooled.

I had a wonderful Mothers Day this year. It was very low key and we grilled and it was very nice.
Damien's step sister brought her little girl over a few weeks ago and I took some darling pics of her. Here are a few:

I was super excited when I got home last nite from teaching a card class. I received an email for more published work. This time its for Paper Trends Handmade book. How exciting !

Oh my goodness ....Laura's kits are becoming so hot and everyone wants one. How crazy is this that her kits sold quicker than we even had a chance to show them off. That's right I said SOLD OUT. Well here is a few things I did with the May Kit:

Something I gotta tell you about Laura's kits are that she really works hard at adding unique and special touches to her kits. I of course could not resist making a bracelet with the Maya Road Chicky charms that came in the kits:

Now remember to be ready to jump on June's kits because they will sell like hot cakes. She has 2 very special kits prepared for June. One is a Love theme which I will be working on and the other is a FAB 4th of July project kit.

I also made some very simple cards for Embellish-It using some of the American Crafts products that Barb sent me. The store is packed with these fantastic goodies and believe me they are bright and so FUN to work with ! Make sure to swing by and see what she has. last but not least. Here is a card I made using cardstock from Cut Card Stock.com as the base for my card. I used the Mangue Yellow in the Malmero Perle' line. You can't see it in the picture but this cardstock has such a BEAUTIFUL shimmer/sparkle to it.

A Tutu, My Little Shoebox, Cut Card Stock.com and more projects

Some one please explain to me why I have such a hard time consistently posting. Once again I have tons of work to share with u guys that I am super excited about.

This month My Little Shoebox sent me a wonderfully jam packed box of goodies. Along with their yummy products (as if that wasn't enough) they sent me a ton of Hambly products to work with. I was super excited because I have not worked much with their overlays, stickers, rub-ons or papers. Well lets just say I had a load of FUN !!!!!
Here is what I created incorporating MLS and Hambly together:
I really am so pleased with this layout "A View From My Heart"
I have never created anything quite like this and I pushed my self to step out of my comfort level by actually cutting my pictures out. Everything on this layout from the overlays to the stickers are Hambly and MLS except the three Prima flowers.

This next layout "She Asked" was brought on by my desire to use as many of the overlays from both company's that I could. I glittered and stickled some of them. Journaling reads: "How does one become a butterfly? she asked.You must want to fly so much that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar."

This next layout "Perfect" I cut out the center of my MLS Scalloped pattern paper. I glittered the scallop edge. I used some of the die cuts and overlay pieces. I also incorporated some of the Hambly rub-ons.

On this layout "Angel Face ?) I really wanted to keep it simple. Used some of the MLS die cuts for my picture background. Than I added some Hambly wing rub-ons . MLS chipboard and Mini Alphas are a must have for any ones stock. I also used Hambly stickers and MLS Overlay and die cuts as the bottom border.

Phew and I still have cards and a tag to show you.
On this card "Good Times" I used the MLS paper underneath the Hambly Overlay and a Hambly border sticker.

On this next card I used the Gorgeous Petal card from Cut Card Stock.com as my base. I used MLS for my pattern paper along with their minis,Chipboard and die cuts. I than accented it with some of the YUMMY Hambly stickers.

I had fun creating this next tag. I hadn't done one in a while. Again I mixed Hambly Overlays and MLS die cuts and chipboard. I luv how whimsical it turned out.

I also created a journal this week. I joined a circle journal group at CMK. I am super excited about getting to know this GREAT group of girls better. I decided to make my album topic on inspiration. Where and how one receives their inspiration. All of the cardstock is from Cut Card Stock.com that I stepped out. I used some of their gorgeous metallic paper. This paper is soooo addictive. I also used their chipboard cover underneath the GCD pattern paper. I than bounded it together using my Zutter.

Sugar and Spice and everything nice....that's what little girls are made of ! Oh and TUTUS and sparkly stuff. This month is full of little girls birthdays. My cousins little girl and my good friends little girls and I decided to make them all Tutu's. I saw this on You Tube on how to make them and thought to my self huuummm I can do that. I plan to make them little hair pieces to match and maybe a fairy doll as well. This one I made for little Christina. I decided to make it Blue, White and Red because they are the Puerto Rican flag colors as well as the US colors . I thought how CUTE would she look at a 4th of July parade wearing this.

So a few weeks ago Mercedes came over and was helping me with laundry. We were laughing at how it is that socks seem to go AWOL. I know that right now there are a lot of published books on making creative items with these odd socks. So I decided to give it a try. Here is what I came up with:

Cute huh ?! It was super easy to make and I did it under 40 minutes.

This has been a super fantastic yet busy week. I booked my flight for CHA so I am excited about that. I also had a few calls for published work and am excited about a few booked photography jobs.
Speaking of photography I took some fun pics of Isabella. She is so goofy and yet such a sweet girl. She luvs sporting dad's hats. I have even made her a basket of them for her to play with. Funny she has a basket of Tutus/costumes and now a basket of hats.

A Kiss on the Chic.com and Embellish It

eeekkk I have so much to share with you guys in this post. I have had a super Fun this month creating with some fabulous product.

Laura from A Kiss on the Chic.com has outdone herself this month. For April she has put together not 1 or 2 nor 3 kits but 6. Yup you heard me right! 6 jam packed Beautiful kits. She created a Baby Boy, Baby Girl, Childhood Boy, Childhood Girl, Teen Boy and Teen Girl kits. I got to play with the Childhood Girl kit and here is what I created with it.
I created this whimsical door hanger. I also pieced the girl by just cutting tidbits of Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday and Sassafrass Life is Beautiful cardstock and PP.

I luv Pink Paislee and was tickled to see I had gotten some in this kit. I created Daddy's Big Girl using the Pink Paislee Fascinating line.

Nothing like being able to scrunch and crumble up paper. Well this is what I did on this next layout "My Little Pop Tart". I used some of the beautiful vibrant Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday, Saturday PP.

I am so excited to show you some cards I just finished up where I used some GORGEOUS Prima and Basic Grey PP. When Embellish It me sent me my package this month to work with I was super excited because Prima and Basic Grey are 2 of my favorites. Make sure to check out all the new additions to the store. Including a huge variety of Prima's new beautiful flowers.

In this Vintage love card I used a ton of Prima goodies. The bird is an Inkadinkado stamp called Birds Galore. I stamped it black and than embossed it with an iridescent sparkle embossing powder.

In this "Friendship" card I used another bird stamp from the Inkadinkado Birds Galore set. I crinkled the Prima PP and stitched it to the cardstock from Cut Card Stock.com. The friendship stamp is an older stamp from the Wonderful Word's set from Stampin Up.

Now look how Cute this little owl stamp is ! Hoo Hoo There | Rachelle Anne Miller | Stampavie Stamp. I also used some of the fabulous Basic Grey Marrakech.

OK I am almost done . For this next card I am going to post some extra pics of how I created the rickrack flower. I have been playing lately creating fiber and ribbon flowers. I got the idea when I was looking for new storage to put it all in and I got to thinking I really need to be using it and not storing it. So in this next card I used some more of the Basic Grey Marrakech and some more Inkadinkado stamps from the Happy Days set.

My Little Shoebox and GCD Studios

I am super excited to post today. I have so much to share with you guys. I have got to tell you that Helen (owner of MLS) is a pure Genius. Her designs that were just released have been fantastic to work with. I cant seem to get enough of all the CUTENESS. I want to share with you guys that at 2 Peas in A Bucket they are holding a contest that MLS is sponsoring. So if you have recently made a project or layout using MLS make sure to head over to the gallery and load it up for a chance to win some their awesome products.

Here is some work I just finished using the "Turtles and Tress" line:

To create this mini-album what I did was I used all the die cut journal tags and used my Zutter Bind it All to bound them together. I created the front and back page by using cardstock and some of the "Turtles and Trees" pattern paper and cutting slighter larger than the tags.

Here is a sweet little card using some of the PP, cute die cuts and the fabulous green mini alphas.

I created this layout with the GORGEOUS scalloped die cut pattern paper in this line.
I simply scrunched it up and inked it a bit and sewed it directly to my page. I know that this picture does not show the credit to Elton John for my journaling but I forgot to attach it before I took the picture. I did however attach it after wards.

Now for my next project.......
Have you heard of GCD Studios ? Oh my goodness because I just found some of their PP and I am in luv with the texture and the sparkle that they offer. The PP has such a cool linen texture to it and will make any layout/project look fantastic !
